Courses I designed and delivered, students I supervised, the people I taught to write their first line of Python, and the hands-on workshops I instructed.
As a Graduate Research Assistant at BRAC University (February 2024 – September 2025), teaching and supervision were part of the role alongside research.
Responsibilities
- Co-supervise and evaluate undergraduate thesis students
- Conduct laboratory classes when required
- Perform exam invigilation duties
- Develop research protocols, pipelines, and methodology that student projects build on
Supervising faculty
Lead Academy approached me to design and deliver an NLP course by developing the pre-recorded content for it, and I accepted the offer. I worked as an instructor there on a contractual basis.
The course — "Natural Language Processing (NLP) for Beginners using Python" — covers everything one might need to get started with NLP, from the very basics through to training deep learning models and using existing large language models.
Coverage
- Text preprocessing, tokenisation, and classical NLP pipelines
- Vector representations and statistical language modelling
- Deep learning approaches to NLP tasks
- Working with pre-trained large language models
- Hands-on Python demonstrations for every concept, plus walkthroughs of the surrounding tooling and platforms
Rather than staying theoretical, each topic is demonstrated practically in Python alongside the relevant tools and platforms.
LearnTime is a Rajshahi-based e-learning platform. This was a remote, part-time role of 3–4 hours a week, running from November 2021 to December 2022.
Responsibilities
- Teach programming (in Python) to people of all ages — especially children — from non-programming backgrounds with little to no prior experience
- Write notes and course documents, and set problems for tests
- Provide worked solutions to the problems students struggle with
- Teach data analytics using Python to interested learners

A 2-Hour AI Workshop on Language and AI Tool Usage, Academic Thinking & Smarter Learning Tech — Workshop Mentor
I had the opportunity to speak alongside Abdullah Ibne Hanif Arean and Mirza Nihal Baig at “AI Beyond Answers,” organized by the Dhaka University IT Society (DUITS), where I delivered a session titled “CUTTING THROUGH THE NOISE: A Rigorous Guide to AI Learning Resources That Actually Build Understanding.”
With AI tools and learning resources growing rapidly, knowing how to use them effectively is becoming just as important as knowing that they exist. I discussed practical ways to leverage AI tools in everyday and non-technical workflows, along with where Bangla currently stands in the AI landscape and how people can make better use of AI in their native language. Sincere thanks to DUITS for organizing such an impactful program and for giving me the opportunity to be part of it.
A Hands-on Guide to AI Tools for Non-Technical Workflows — Workshop Mentor
Invited to Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymensingh, to discuss the current state of Bangla in AI as part of a panel discussion.
I additionally served as a workshop instructor, demonstrating how AI can be productively leveraged to automate non-technical workflows and everyday tasks. It was an honour to share the stage with this prominent group of Bangla NLP researchers.

ভাষা-বিচিত্রা — National AI Workshop on Speech Recognition — Workshop Host & Mentor
Bengali.AI, together with the IUT Computer Society (IUTCS), ran a nationwide AI competition called "ভাষা-বিচিত্রা" (Language Variety) to find the next big talents in speech recognition for regional dialects.
Despite advances in Automatic Speech Recognition, our findings show clear limitations in zero-shot and fine-tuned performance on local dialects. This datathon targeted that gap by seeking solutions that improve ASR for diverse Bengali dialects — a language lacking extensive technological support for its regional variation.
Alongside my teammates from Bengali.AI, Team Apocalypse co-ran the workshop.
NLP Datathon Bootcamp — Workshop Mentor
Ran a workshop on behalf of Bengali.AI, together with teammates, for the bootcamp of the inter-university Natural Language Processing competition organised by UIUCCL.
The bootcamp walked participating teams through the competition dataset, baseline modelling approaches, and the evaluation setup before the datathon opened.
